Who Are We

GS Corporate Finance (GSCF) is a corporate finance consultancy specialising in institutional debt, equity and credit solutions. We support businesses, property investors, developers and institutional clients in identifying and structuring appropriate funding solutions across a broad range of sectors.

Our team brings together experience in corporate finance advisory, investment banking, accounting and structured finance, with professional backgrounds spanning some of the world’s leading financial institutions, including Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, HSBC, Barclays, UBS and other major banking groups.

Collectively, our team draws upon more than a century of combined professional experience, applying a commercially focused and analytical approach to complex financing requirements.

How We Work

We operate as a corporate finance consultancy, working with commercial lenders, private credit providers and investors to assess funding requirements, underwrite transactions and facilitate introductions to appropriate sources of capital.

Our approach is founded on understanding the underlying transaction, the borrower’s financial position and the commercial merits of each opportunity. We seek to establish a clear understanding of a client’s requirements before identifying suitable financing structures.

Our Approach

We work with a network of professional advisers, lending counterparties and financial services partners across key international markets, including Jersey, the United Kingdom, the United States, the European Union, Canada and Australia.

Where a transaction requires regulated financial services, we seek to work with appropriately authorised and qualified counterparties, subject to the relevant jurisdictional requirements and the scope of their permissions.

This collaborative model enables us to consider a broad range of financing structures and potential sources of capital for eligible borrowers.

Services

Our financing solutions are tailored to the nature, scale and objectives of each transaction and may include:

  • Secured and unsecured finance — facilities structured around the borrower’s circumstances and credit profile.
  • Property finance — buy-to-let, private rented sector (PRS), bridging, commercial mortgages and foreign property finance.
  • Development finance — senior debt, mezzanine finance, forward funding and development facilities.
  • Corporate funding — growth capital, working capital and structured credit facilities.
  • Equity and joint ventures — equity investment, co-investment arrangements and joint venture finance.
  • Trade and structured finance — bespoke facilities designed around commercial transactions and specific funding requirements.
  • Credit line facilities — revolving or other credit arrangements, subject to lender criteria and due diligence.

Each proposal is considered on its individual merits, with financing subject to satisfactory underwriting, lender approval and the applicable terms and conditions.

What Sets Us Apart

We recognise that complex transactions rarely fit neatly into standard lending criteria. Our role is to understand the commercial rationale behind a proposal and explore financing structures that reflect its particular characteristics.

Where appropriate, we consider combinations of senior debt, mezzanine finance, private credit and equity participation. In selected circumstances, a blended capital structure may support a higher proportion of total project costs than conventional senior lending alone.

Our objective is to identify commercially viable solutions while maintaining a realistic assessment of risk, borrower contribution, security and repayment capacity.

Our Funding Network

We engage with a network of potential funding sources that may include institutional lenders, private credit providers, family offices, private investment groups and high-net-worth investors.

The suitability of each source depends on the transaction’s size, sector, jurisdiction, risk profile and investment criteria. Availability of capital is assessed on a case-by-case basis, and all funding remains subject to the relevant party’s approval and contractual commitments.

Our Focus

We believe that effective corporate finance begins with a thorough understanding of the borrower and the transaction.

Our process prioritises:

  • Understanding the borrower — assessing sector experience, business objectives and the commercial rationale for funding.
  • Early financial assessment — reviewing creditworthiness, liquidity, available equity and repayment capacity.
  • Appropriate lender matching — identifying potential funding sources aligned with the transaction rather than applying a standardised solution.
  • Transparency from the outset — establishing expectations around documentation, fees, timescales and lender requirements.
  • Responsible underwriting — considering the principal risks, security arrangements and financial sustainability of each proposal.

We aim to ensure that opportunities are assessed realistically before progressing to detailed lender engagement.

Jersey Trust & Structuring Solutions

For eligible institutional and private clients, we can facilitate access to professional advice on trust, foundation, special-purpose vehicle (SPV) and co-investment structures in appropriate international financial centres.

Jersey may offer relevant structuring options for certain cross-border investment and wealth-planning arrangements. The appropriate structure depends on the client’s objectives, tax position, legal requirements and wider circumstances.

Where required, these arrangements should be established and administered by appropriately qualified and authorised professional service providers.

Legal Structures & Renumeration

GSCF operates as a corporate finance consultancy facilitating engagement between prospective borrowers and potential lenders or investors. Its role in each transaction is determined by the relevant engagement arrangements and the scope of services agreed with the client and counterparties.

GSCF does not hold client funds in the United  Kingdom. Remuneration is generally derived from agreed fees payable by lenders, investors and/or clients, as applicable to the relevant transaction and contractual arrangements.

Where Jersey-based trusts, funds or wealth-management structures are involved, their legal ownership, administration and regulatory status are determined by the relevant entities and applicable law.

All financing proposals remain subject to satisfactory due diligence, the approval of the relevant funding provider and the execution of definitive legal documentation.

Our Mission

Our objective is to bring clarity, structure and commercial focus to complex financing requirements.

We facilitate engagement between prospective borrowers and potential lenders and investors, helping to identify and assess suitable funding opportunities.

Through financial analysis, transaction assessment and access to a diverse network of potential funding sources, we aim to help clients navigate the financing process with greater confidence, transparency and a clear understanding of the opportunities available to them.
